It’s been one year since COVID was confirmed in NY
On the evening of March 1, 2020 Governor Cuomo sent out a press release confirming the first case of the novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19, in New York State.
“There is no cause for surprise – this was expected,” the governor said in the statement. “There is no reason for undue anxiety – the general risk remains low in New York. We are diligently managing this situation and will continue to provide information as it becomes available.”
A year later: New York has had 1.64 million cases of COVID-19 with 47,143 deaths, as of March 1, 2021 with 7,580 new positive cases reported on Sunday.
New free rapid testing site opens in the City of Kingston
Monday, March 1, 2021 • NYS Sen. Michelle Hinchey announced that a new state-run rapid testing site will open in the City of Kingston today, Monday, March 1, 2021. The HealthAlliance testing site is located at 27 Grand Street, Kingston and will operate Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. Lisa LaMonica "Botanicals in Winter"
March 3-29, 2021 • Window On Hudson, 43 South 3rd Street, Hudson • Lisa LaMonica’s watercolors are a study of plants she discovered growing in an abandoned garden in 2015. She spent the spring and summer months cataloguing much of the flora, wanting to have a record of what someone else had created and then left behind. Club Helsinki Virtual Open Mic One Year Extravaganza
Tuesday, March 16, 2021 • 7pm • Helsinki in Hudson closed her doors due to COVID-19 on March 13, 2020 with a full schedule of sold-out shows and events on the calendar. But the club’s open-mic host, Cameron Melville, was undeterred.
