  • Call for Talent: "Morton Community Talent Show"
Now's the time of year to dust off your talents! The Morton Memorial Library in Rhinecliff is heading into their 14th annual talent show on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 7pm with an evening of jokes, bands, storytelling, guitar playing, dance, opera – you name it, if it's your talent, let’s see it. So please use your imaginations and share your immense variety of talents with our community. This show and our community are all about enjoyment and camaraderie – never judgment! Please contact Sandy if you are interested in participating: sandy@mortonrhinecliff.org. (Note: The library is hoping to do this event in person this year, but if you don't live in the area or would prefer, you can record your performance and send it in and they will happily show videos.)

  • Rhinecliff Train Station Art Exhibition Call for Submissions
Chad Kleitsch is organizing an art exhibition inspired by the beautiful Rhinecliff train station. Please contact Chad at chadkleitsch@gmail.com to submit a piece. The show will be exhibited at the Morton Memorial Library in Rhinecliff sometime in 2023.

  • Volunteer callers wanted
The Dutchess County Office for the Aging (OFA) is reaching out to older adults who are isolated and would like some type of social connection, somebody to talk to for 20-30 minutes a week. Could you be that somebody? OFA’s Friendly Calls program is looking for volunteer callers to reach out to our older adults. It’s a simple program at its core: neighbors talking to neighbors in a short, structured conversation. OFA screens both the volunteer callers as well as the people being called. You’d be talking to somebody who lives alone, is isolated, and has expressed an interest in staying socially connected. Volunteers would start out calling from OFA headquarters in Poughkeepsie, but we envision the program becoming something a volunteer can do from home if that’s what they prefer. Adult volunteers of all ages are welcome. If you’re interested in taking part as a volunteer caller, email bjones@dutchessny.gov or call 845-486-2555.

  • Submissions for March "Monologue" Madness
Call for original submissions are due by Tuesday, January 31. All genres welcome, original work only, 10 minutes (or less) in length (Please include the approximate time length of the piece). Scripts or video clips to be received by the Morton Memorial Library by Tuesday, January 31, and should not contain playwright’s name. Submit via email to: sandy@mortonrhinecliff.org. In-person/snail-mail: 82 Kelly Street, PO Box 157, Rhinecliff NY 12574 Accepted play authors will be notified by March 1. An evening of monologues presented by the Morton Memorial Library & Community House will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2023.

  • Phoenicia Library on modified hours, looking for staff
