Treat your senses with outdoor dining at Terrain and Table

Dining outdoors has become a place of respite thanks to COVID, and now the possibilities of eating al fresco are becoming quite endless.

A few weeks ago, HVNY was invited to an enchanting dinner in the woods – but it was not just any woods, it was Bethel Woods, the home of the original 1969 Woodstock.

With an accompaniment of birdsong and the sun setting behind the forest of the Bindy Bazaar, where vendors for the infamous festival had once gathered to sell their wares, candlelit tables under the summer canopy invited guests to the kick-off of the senses-tingling Terrain & Table dinner series hosted by Shawn and Kristopher of The Farmhouse Project.

Each dinner for the Terrain & Table 2021 season features female chefs serving seasonal and locally-sourced bites at idyllic settings across the Hudson Valley and Catskills. The kick-off event featured the couple's childhood friend, Chef Camille Rodriguez, who served up a killer smoked Berkshire pork chop that was brined for 48hours, and a corn risotto that is still simmering in my memory many weeks later.

The next Terrain & Table dinner will be held on August 21, 2021 at the 200-year-old Stone Ridge Orchard. The evening includes live music, a farm tour and talk with cider tasting followed by a walk up the hill for dinner overlooking the orchard and mountains. Cheryl Perry, a former New York City restaurant and bakery owner, and multicultural chef Lizzy Singh-Brar, a former Chopped contestant, will head the multi-course dinner with wine pairings that will be served as the sun sets over the orchard. Tickets are still available. More info in our upcoming calendar of events and at https://bit.ly/Terrain_and_Table.
