Fried food, racing pigs, ‘Jessie’s Girl,’ VR farming and butter sculptures: It’s fair week need we say more?

Okay! The 178th Dutchess County Fair runs this Tuesday, August 20 through Sunday, August 25, 2024. The go-to fair standards like racing pigs, fried onions and 4H milkshakes, but there’ll also be butter sculptures, a VR tractor ride (that allows you to step into the boots of a farmer without leaving the fair), a replica of a former firehouse in Pine Plains, 9 holes of agri-golf and a Kiss tribute band (all free with admission), the “Jessie’s Girl” guy (Rick Springfield on Wednesday night, $45 includes fair admission), and of course fair food galore like Mexican corn in a cup, meatballs on a stick, pickled everything, gluten-free fried Oreo cookies, crab cakes, Rossi’s, and …(click here to the list of vendors).

  • Daily Fair Hours:
    Tuesday-Saturday: 10am–10pm
    Sunday: 10am–8pm

  • All Rides Run Daily:
    Tuesday-Saturday 11am until close
    Sunday: 11am–8pm

  • Admission is $18, $15 in advance online; free for kids under 11

  • Parking at the fairground is free

  • NO PETS (unless service animals)
