Floating circus heads down Hudson River

A floating circus will head down the Hudson this week, stopping to regale locals with their shenanigans along the way.

The Flotsam troupe of musicians, circus performers and puppeteers – including a balance artist from Taiwan, a hair suspension artist from Brazil, a fiddler and bike mechanic, and a former goat farmer – travel via a ramshackle raft to “bring some magic and whimsy to the world while helping communities engage in their waterways.”

For 2025, Flotsam is helping celebrate the Bicentennial of the Erie Canal by traveling from Buffalo to New York City.

Shows are intended for all ages and are free to attend.
