The holidays can be joyous, and they can be difficult. They can even be both of those things for the same person, on the same day. No matter what you’re feeling or going through, you’re not alone.

Back in May 2020, I asked our HVNY group on Instagram how they were, in what was thought of as a brush-off Instagram Story during our recap of the daily coronavirus briefing from then-New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo. I didn’t expect anyone to answer, honestly, but a lot of you answered, honestly. And many of you felt scared, anxious, you were drinking a lot more, uncertain about finances, uncertain about other people, very ‘meh’ and secretly relieved to have a little free time. It’s okay whatever you are feeling, and even if it changes day-to-day.

If you want to get it out, send us an email, or use the (anonymous) form to share how you’re feeling. Please note: We are your neighbors, not health professionals. Dial 911, or call or text 988, the national crisis and suicide hotline, if you need immediate help.
