Winter weather to return this weekend with ‘long duration’ storm

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Hudson Valley from Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening.

From the National Weather Service in Albany: A long duration winter storm impacts the region this weekend, with a period of snow on Saturday changing to a wintry mix Saturday night into Sunday.

The lower Hudson Valley is expected to see 2 to 4 inches of snow before mixing with sleet and then changing to rain by early Sunday morning. Ice accretion up to a couple of tenths of an inch is possible around the I-84 corridor.

Forecasters will provide additional updates over the next 24 hours.
