▲ Final Section of Ashokan Rail Trail open
The final segment of the Ulster County-New York City Department of Environmental Protection’s 11.5 mile-long trail that runs along the northern edge of the Ashokan Reservoir between Basin Road in West Hurley and Route 28A in Boiceville will be open to the public with two new trailheads and a 360-foot bridge over the Esopus Creek • An estimated 9,000 people have visited the trail, which opened earlier this fall • Open daily from dawn to dusk • Public parking is available at the Woodstock Dike Trailhead, 1285 Route 28, West Hurley, Ashokan Station Trailhead, 3045 Route 28 in Shokan, and the Boiceville Bridge Trailhead, 5080 Route 28A in Boiceville • Dogs welcomed, wheelchair accessible • More info: LINK
