Truck stop developer to present new plan
Thursday, February 13, 2020 • 7pm • Town of Kent • Peder Scott, the developer of a proposed truck stop off Route 52 near Interstate 84 in the Town of Kent, will present his new, updated plan at the Kent Town Planning Board Meeting. In addition, the town board will hold a public hearing to discuss adopting a temporary moratorium on mining in the Town of Kent (Putnam County) on February 18, 2020. The moratorium “is intended as a pause for the towns as town officials, residents and experts look carefully at our current code and use the opportunity to develop a new, more specific code” • LINK

23rd Annual Great Backyard Bird Count
February 14-17, 2020 • The Great Backyard Bird Count is a free, fun, and easy event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of bird populations. Participants are asked to count birds for as little as 15 minutes (or as long as they wish) on one or more days of the four-day event and report their sightings online at birdcount.org
