Public Comments for Bridge Merger, Toll Increases
The New York State Bridge Authority (NYSBA) is asking for the public’s input on the proposal to consolidate the New York State Thruway Authority and the NYSBA that would also increase tolls on five bridges: the Mid-Hudson, Kingston-Rhinecliff, Rip Van Winkle, Newburgh-Beacon and Bear Mountain bridges • Comments may be mailed by 4pm on March 16, 2020 to: Brian Bushek, CFO and Treasurer Mid-Hudson Bridge Toll Plaza, Route 44/55, P.O. NYS Burn Ban: March 16 - May 14, 2020
The New York State Burn Ban will be in effect from March 16 through May 14, 2020. During this time, open burning is prohibited in New York, with several exceptions. More info: LINK

As of Monday, March 16, all scheduled in-person Hudson Valley Womxn in Business events, including coffees, will be postponed until the end of the month. 


THURSDAY - It’s SPRING!

The 2020 Spring Equinox in Northern Hemisphere will take place at 11:49pm on Thursday, March 19.

NOTES:

  • The Bardavon and Ulster Performing Arts Center announced it will postpone all events for a minimum of 30 days, effective immediately. (Source: LINK)

  • All public programming at the Wassaic Project is cancelled through the end of April.

  • As of Thursday, March 12 at 5:00 pm, Art Omi in Ghent will suspend all public events and classes until further notice. The Benenson Center will be closed as of March 13 until further notice. Visitors will be welcome in the Sculpture & Architecture Park. (Source: LINK)

  • All activities at Hudson Hall involving large gatherings will be postponed for the next 30 days.

  • Darryl’s House Club in Pawling is cancelling all shows until further notice.

  • The Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra’s Ellis Island Concert scheduled for March 21 has been postponed. A later date is TBA.

  • The Woodstock Film Festival event, “Women in Film and Media,” scheduled for March 22 will be postponed to a later date, TBA.

  • Rhinebeck Historical Society’s talk about “Forgotten Hamlets of Dutchess County" with David Turner on March 27 has been rescheduled to September 25, 2020.

  • The Hudson River Museum in Yonkers has cancelled all programs and events through March 31, including all planetarium shows.

  • The Hudson River Maritime Museum in Kingston is announcing the postponement and/or cancellation of a number of events and the continuation of its four-day schedule until the end of May. The following programs have been cancelled: Museum Mates, March 15; all spring Wednesday evening lectures, including April 15, April 29, May 13, and May 27; and the exhibit opening reception for “Mary Powell: Queen of the Hudson,” originally scheduled for April 24. The exhibit will still open as planned on Saturday, April 25. The “Bottles & Brews: Prohibition in the Hudson Valley” program originally scheduled for Saturday, March 21 has been postponed, new date to be announced. (LINK)

  • Autism Community Field Day, scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds has been cancelled.

Narcan Training Session
