Woodstock marks 50th anniversary at original site
From August 16 through August 18, the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Woodstock at the original site of the 1969 music festival. In addition to featured performers including Ringo Starr, Santana (SOLD OUT!), John Fogerty recapping the 50th anniversary of Creedence Clearwater Revival (with some incredible special guests), there will also be an adult-oriented art-making zone, meet-and-greets with Woodstock alumni, fireworks and more! (Note: the museum, historic site, parking areas will be open to ticketholders only during the weekend.) More info: LINK
New York State Police have already issued travel warnings to attendees, and anyone in the area – “Traffic is expected to be particularly heavy on state Route 17 westbound between the New York State Thruway tolls in Harriman and exit 104 onto state Route 17b in Monticello. Peak traffic for westbound lanes is anticipated between the hours of 1:00pm and 7:00pm and eastbound between the hours of 11:00pm and 2:00am. Motorists are encouraged to make alternate travel plans and avoid unnecessary travel during these hours on all four days of this anniversary concert weekend.
Additionally, heavy traffic at state Route 17 exit 104 westbound may necessitate detours being put into place and motorists should be aware of alternate routes and plan for these detours and heavy traffic accordingly.”
