Big Read kicks off at Bard College with author Sandra Cisneros

The Big Read Hudson Valley: Spanning the Hudson River with Words kicked off last night at the Fisher Center at Bard College with a bilingual discussion featuring acclaimed author Sandra Cisneros, who began the evening by reading “A House of My Own” from her classic coming-of-age book, “The House on Mango Street.”
The Big Read is a community-wide literary program from the NEA offering reading groups, performances, workshops and special events taking place in Red Hook, Rhinebeck and Kingston all month long.
