Free books every month for kids in Poughkeepsie, thanks to Dolly Parton
Children living in the city or town of Poughkeepsie can sign-up to receive free, high-quality, age-appropriate books every month in their mailbox up through their fifth birthday as part of The Dolly Parton Imagination Library. In addition, each book is addressed directly to the child, making it a special moment to look forward to every month.
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library Launch will take place on January 10, 2026 and January 24, 2026, from 1:30 to 3:30pm at the Adriance Memorial Library at 93 Market Street in Poughkeepsie. The event will also feature Marco the Magician’s tricks and a drawing for Dolly-themed door prizes. No registration is required to attend.
The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District and the New York Department of Education.
