Learn more about the unique friendship between two world leaders that has been called “the most important of the 20th century” during a special exhibit at the FDR Library, “D-Day: FDR and Churchill’s Mighty Endeavor” on view through Tuesday, January 7, 2020.

Through top-secret communications, FDR and Churchill’s relationship was forged as a triumph in allied cooperation and planning that resulted in the June 6, 1944 invasion of Normandy that ultimately led to the fall of Hitler’s Nazi regime.

In addition to four interactive installations, this special exhibit features many documents and artifacts never seen in public before, including a rare ECM Mark II SIGABA cipher machine that was used to encode the most sensitive transmissions from FDR to Churchill.

Regular library and museum admission fees apply.
