NYS DOT workers were getting ready to mow when they heard a dog barking in the woods. The dog was found tied to a tree off of Interstate 84 in the Town of East Fishkill. A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for abandoning this animal.

The New York State Humane Association in Kingston is offering a $1,000 reward for information after a young dog was found tied to a tree off of Interstate 84 in the town of East Fishkill.

On July 24, 2019, workers from the New York State Department of Transportation were getting ready to mow on I-84 near mile marker 50 when they heard a dog barking. Crew members found the young dog tied to a tree in the woods with “signs of prior neglect” according to state police.

The dog is now being cared for by the Dutchess County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and police are seeking those responsible.

Anyone with information regarding the possible history of this animal or its owners is asked to please contact the New York State Police at SP East Fishkill (845) 677-7300. Please reference case# 9050766. All calls can be kept confidential.
