Where do you access the Hudson River? Deadline 1/31

People have connected with the river for generations to fish, launch boats, birdwatch, hunt, take a walk or just sit and be inspired by the river’s majesty.

Amtrak is considering new fences and locked gates at locations along the Hudson River between Poughkeepsie and Rensselaer.

To help track public access to the Hudson River, Scenic Hudson, the largest local environmental group, is asking for input on how visitors access the river with an interactive map.

The information from the map will be part of Scenic Hudson’s comprehensive documentation of public access along the river’s rail corridor, which includes Hudson River Access Plan, that aims to identify gaps in public access, recommend places for safe new shoreline access and suggest ways to improve crossing the rail lines safely at existing locations.

The Hudson River Access Plan map will be open for public input until January 31, 2020.
