It’s Earth Day!

HBO filming leads to road closure
On Monday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 23, Route 209 will be closed between Route 28 and Sawkill Road in The Town of Ulster from 5am to 7pm. Traffic will be detoured onto Sawkill Road.

TUESDAY

Community meeting to discuss landfill plans in Catskill
Tuesday, April 23 at 7pm • Catskill Community Center, 344 Main Street, Catskill. Panelists will discuss the proposal for a large incinerator-ash landfill along the shoreline of the Hudson River. The ash would be sourced from trash incinerators from Poughkeepsie, Peekskill and Hudson Falls. Free one-month membership to Mohonk (for Ulster County residents)
The Mohonk Preserve is offering a free one-month membership for residents of Ulster County. Visitors with proof of residency may obtain their passes at the Preserve Visitor Center from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 26, and at the Visitor Center and Spring Farm Trailhead from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28. The membership passes will be valid through May 19. Passes must be picked up in person, with the exception of minors, whose parent or guardian may pick up a pass on their behalf. Grand opening at the Four Brothers Drive-in
(Rescheduled from last week!) The modern-retro Amenia spot (and the newest drive-in built from the ground up in America) will officially open for the season on April 19th with two family-friendly screenings and the introduction of its newest, kitsch addition – a jungle-themed Airstream you can rent (equipped with a Polaroid camera, board games and bikes for a truly nostalgic stay.) Workshop: Impacts of Land Management on our Forests

Branches less than five inches in diameter, and less than ten feet in length should be placed unbundled on the curb with all cut ends facing the same way. PHOTOS WANTED: The developers of the Hudson River State Hospital are looking to rebuild and reuse the Administration portion of the Main Building and they are looking for: digital copies (high res) of any blueprints/plans/drawings of the Administration attic and roof and/or digital photos from inside the attic space from before the fire. Note: They do not need photos of the exterior of the roof or buildings. They have those already. *The photos/images you send will remain anonymous (unless you specify otherwise).
