10th Annual Family Services Walk A Mile in Her Shoes
Saturday, October 10, 2020 • 10am - 2pm • 258 Titusville Road, Poughkeepsie • Walk to help end sexual assault and domestic violence, to show solidarity with survivors and to raise funds for services that not only support victims, but also educate youth on violence prevention and help offenders turn away from abusive behavior. Choose to either walk a mile with Family Services in a socially distant community walk on October 10 between 10am-2pm starting at the Gold’s Gym Poughkeepsie entrance to the Rail Trail, or walk with family and friends around your neighborhood any time between October 1-15, 2020 • More info: LINK

‘Climate Change and the Future of Montane Birds’
October 15, 2020 •  7-8pm • The Catskills are renowned for their forested mountain landscapes and rich bird life. Dr. Jason Hill, an ecologist at the Vermont Center for Ecostudies, will discuss how climate change is predicted to shape northeastern forests over the next 200 years, with a focus on resident plants and wildlife. His talk will feature an in-depth look at the future of montane birds. October 19, 2020 • It wasn’t the coronavirus that stopped the ban of single-use plastic bags in New York State – it was a lawsuit that recently ruled in favor of the ban. The enforcement of the state’s single-use plastic bags will resume on October 19, 2020 • More info: LINK
