2021 Memorial Day Events

On Memorial Day, a convoy of law enforcement and military vehicles will travel throughout Dutchess County communities in both an inner and outer loop to honor those that have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The convoy follows in the recent COVID-19-revised commemorations in the county for last year’s Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day observations, though there will be in-person ceremonies this year (scroll down for listings).

“We are thrilled to again offer our full ceremony at the Dutchess County War Memorial this year, while continuing the Memorial Day convoy, which attracted so many along the route last year, when we couldn’t get together – all in our ongoing tribute to those who gave their lives to protect our liberty,” noted Adam Roche, Director of Dutchess County’s Division of Veterans’ Services.

Residents can view the convoy alongside the route. In addition to waving American flags, children whose families live along the route are encouraged to paint and draw flags to be displayed in their windows or on driveways.
