Our first Hike for the Hudson (in the rain!)

by niki@hvny.info

It was slow and soggy but my furry sidekicks, Duck and Goose, and I logged our first few minutes hiking along the Hudson River at the Staatsburgh State Historic Site, all for a good cause.

The Hike for the Hudson is a virtual hiking event taking place the month of September to raise funds for Clearwater, the environmental group founded by Pete Seeger and friends in 1966 to bring awareness to the health of the River after years of toxic pollution.

Virtually join the HVNY team to hike at least 153 minutes this month (a nod to the 153-miles the Hudson River flows from NYC to Troy) + raise funds to support the Hudson River one step at a time (but at your own pace!). Don’t wanna hike? Donate! More info: https://hvny.info/events/hike-for-the-hudson
