Milea Estate Vineyard to expand to 107-acre dairy farm

 

A former dairy farm in Dutchess County will be reimagined as Milea Estate Vineyard expands across the street.

The vineyard, located off Hollow Road in Staatsburg, recently announced they have acquired a the 107-acre dairy farm across the street at 40 Hollow Circle and plans to plant “15 to 30 acres of grapes over the next five years, starting in spring 2025.”

According to realtor reports, the property closed in May of 2024 for $1.25 million. In addition to several outbuildings and a livestock barn, the property also features a 5,100- square-foot, 15 room, center hall Colonial Farm House.

For the past few weeks, crews have been clearing trees and leveling acres of stagnant farmland that also houses several outbuildings.

“We’re honored to farm this beautiful site in Staatsburg and proud to contribute to the rich agricultural history of our town,” the vineyard said in a statement. ”We are so thankful to our guests, club members and community. It is your support and our continued growth that has allowed us to expand and do what we love to do, farm.”
