Light snow expected Tuesday a.m.

Those hoping for a White Christmas may be in luck as a “light snowfall” is expected to bring 1 to 3-inches of snow to the region this week, with more on the way.

According to the National Weather Service in New York: Light snowfall is expected late Monday into Tuesday morning. Snow likely changes to rain along the coast Tuesday morning, and possibly by early afternoon for most inland areas. Total snow accumulations up to 1 inch for NYC metro, Long Island and coastal CT, and 1 to 2 inches for interior areas. Slick travel possible on colder, untreated surfaces during the Tuesday morning commute.

Another “more substantial snow storm” is in the forecast for this weekend, according to meteorologist Ben Knoll. Check back for updates.
