Vanderbilt Mansion, FDR Home to close to visitors and tours

The Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site and Home of FDR, both in Hyde Park, will be closed to visitors and tours for two weeks, from January 4, 2026 through January 17, 2026.

NHS Park Rangers say the closure is part of an annual two-week furlough for staff members:“ We try to minimize operations during the busy season by getting everyone through their furlough at once during the slowest part of the winter.”

The Vanderbilt and FDR site grounds, FDR Library and Museum, and visitor centers will remain open during this time.
