ALL WEEK

Fix a Leak Week: More than one trillion gallons of water are wasted in homes each year – that’s more than 10,000 gallons a year for the average home! The Department of Environmental Conservation’s Fix a Leak Week encourages homeowners to improve your home’s water efficiency by fixing leaks. Community Acupuncture

Treat symptoms of pain, stress and other ailments using points on the ears, hands and feet during this weekly clinic provided by Dr. Lyndsay von Miller, DACM, L.Ac. “Cocktails Across America” at FDR’s place
Friday, March 22 • 6:30pm • Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum, 4079 Albany Post Rd., Hyde Park. Author talk, book signing with authors Anne Peck-Davis and Diane Lapis on the cocktail culture in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s, followed by a cocktail reception featuring drinks from the book. $50, 21+.

Fresh Air Fund’s Maple Celebration

Maple Open House at Bowdoin Park 
Saturday, March 23 • 10am to 2pm • Hands-on demonstrations of how maple syrup is made, and early Native American methods for maple sugaring like making a fire by friction. Free.

Lecture: Lost Lighthouses of the Hudson River
Saturday, March 23 • 2pm • Riverport Wooden Boat School Classroom, Hudson River Maritime Museum, 50 Rondout Landing, Kingston. $5, free for Hudson River Maritime Museum members. Only eight Hudson River lighthouses remain, but dozens once dotted the river between Troy and New York City.

Hudson Athens Light Opening Reception

Saturday, March 23 from 5-7pm. Hudson Hall, 327 Warren Street, Hudson. On view through June 9. Group exhibition from 30 artists of paintings, photography and sculpture reflecting the aesthetic splendors of the Hudson Rivers. 


SUNDAY

Sunrise Stroll at the Walkway
Sunday, March 24 • 6:30am. Walkway Over the Hudson, both entrances, with group walk beginning from East Gate at 6:30am. Rise and shine with an early morning spring walk on the Walkway Over the Hudson. Free for members, donation requested for non-members. walkway.org

Workshop: Impacts of Land Management on our Forests 
Saturday, April 27 • 10am - 2:30pm • Cary Institute East, Carriage House, 2917 Sharon Turnpike, Millbrook. “Three-quarters of New York's forested lands are privately owned? This means that anyone who owns or manages private forested lands can influence the heath and future of this important resource for everyone.” Head outside to learn about the ecology of local forests and how to identify threats to forest health.
