Explore the mini-world of Marwencol
Artist Mark Hogancamp created Marwencol, a 1/6 scale WWII-era Belgian Village, as rehabilitation after being beaten outside of a Kingston bar and suffering severe brain damage that left him with little knowledge of his previous life. Hogancamp set-up and photographed these realistic scenes of a world totally in his control, using dolls to represent himself, his friends, family and attackers in “epic battles.”
An extended show of his photographs and drawings will be on display through May 25, Saturdays only, 12-5pm at the One Mile Gallery an 18th century building in the beautiful Rondout area of Kingston.
