After 200 dead crows were found behind the Price Chopper at the Wallkill Town Center off of Dunning and Schutt Roads in the Town of Wallkill on January 9, the City of Middletown and Town of Wallkill officials are advising workers and residents to use care if they encounter a dead bird.

“If you should encounter dead crows on your property, please handle them using gloves, shovels, etc.,” a public notice said. “As a precaution, please do not come in direct contact with the dead bird.”

The cause of death of the birds is still under investigation by the DEC.
