  • President Biden returns to West Point this weekend to deliver the 2024 commencement address – Approximately 1,025 cadets will begin their march to be commissioned as second lieutenants at 9:15am before the 10am start time at Michie Stadium on Saturday, May 25. Previous commencement speakers for the USMA graduation include Vice President Kamala Harris in 2023, former President Donald Trump in 2020 and former Vice President Mike Pence in 2019. Biden also delivered the 2016 and 2012 commencement addresses, both while serving as vice president to Barack Obama, the 2010 commencement speaker.

  • Hudson River Museum awarded $125K digitization grant – The matching grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services’ Museums for America program will support the Yonkers-based institution’s “digitization of thousands of collection objects largely consisting of historical photographs representative of the museum’s local and regional communities,” the organization said in a press release. By the end of 2025, the museum expects to publish more than 8,000 collection images on their website, https://hrm.org.

  • It’s the unofficial start of summer – and it’s going to feel like it. “Very warm temperatures & humidity Tues & Wed will result in a "moderate" HeatRisk,” according to the National Weather Service in Albany. “Those sensitive to heat, especially without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration, will likely be affected.“
