Accounting with the county: Comptroller to host town halls

As Chief Accounting Officer and the Chief Auditing Officer of the county, Dan Aymar-Blair keeps track of any money that flows through Dutchess County’s coffers.

“More than 10-percent of Dutchess County’s expenditures come from federal dollars and Dutchess County residents directly benefit from over $1.9 billion in federal assistance,” said Comptroller Aymar-Blair. “This funding keeps children and families out of poverty. It fixes roads, sidewalks, and buses, and it allows counties like Dutchess to be prepared for emergencies and disasters.”

Learn more about the county’s federal funding standing, what Dutchess County did with COVID-19 federal funding, and why it matters to taxpayers during a series of town halls hosted by Aymar-Blair beginning Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 6pm at the VFW Hall in Beacon. Another town hall is planned for Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 5:30pm at the Millbrook Library.

A question and answer session will follow.
