Catskill Public Theater unveils “Terror”
July 9-11, July 16-18 and July 24-25, 2024
Cost: Free
Roscoe’s Fireman’s Field
"Terror," written by the acclaimed Ferdinand Von Schirach and directed by the esteemed Leon J. Van Dyke, unfolds within the high-stakes environment of a military tribunal. The play scrutinizes the actions of a USAF Fighter pilot who makes the harrowing decision to shoot down a commercial airliner, carrying 170 passengers, to prevent a terrorist attack reminiscent of 9/11 on a packed sports stadium. The question posed to the audience is as compelling as it is haunting: Is the pilot a murderer, or is he a disciplined, professional warrior acting in the defense of his country? In a unique and highly theatrical twist, the audience is entrusted with the role of the jury. During intermission, audience members will cast their votes to determine the pilot’s innocence or guilt. This decision directly influences the course of the performance, with two distinct second acts prepared to reflect the verdict of the audience jurors. City of Kingston
Art Walk Kingston is a celebration of the arts and the local community. Over the course of two days, visitors and local residents are invited to explore three distinct areas of the city of Kingston and immerse themselves in a range of art and events. Paintings, photographs and sculptures are just some of the mediums that will be on display at home studios and galleries. Our past events average nearly 200 artists at dozens of locations throughout the city, making this event one of the largest open studio tours in the Hudson River Valley. Open studio tours are a rare opportunity to see a wide range of art and meet the artists in person in their private studios. Whether you have a few hours or a full day, the event weekend will offer a broad range of art and activities for everyone. artwalkkingston.com
