Cost: Free
Putnam History Museum, 63 Chestnut Street, Cold Spring

She will feature the works of several environmental artists throughout the talk. The history of the environmental movement is deeply connected to the fight to save local Storm King Mountain in the 1960s, which sparked the American Environmental Movement and set legal precedents for environmental protection. In addition to Selva’s talk, PHM Staff will also provide a brief history of this pivotal fight. Bring a bagged lunch to museum or tune in online on World Maritime Day, September 26, to explore the ways that the movement that began here in the Hudson Valley has inspired artists all around the world. Climate Week (9/22-9/29) is also the final week of the “Healing Hudson” installation before it closes. This event is free. How does Bibi-Mimi Monday Memo work? Once a week, during the same hour of the day, each artist works in their separate studio with the intention of tuning into the same creative channel. They do not speak or make any kind of plans beforehand, but at the end of each session they compare notes on their inspiration, their state of mind and the work produced. They have found, over the course of the project, that not only are there connections in the work produced but also in their emotions, recent experiences and in odd little coincidences surrounding the sessions. http://www.windowonhudson.org/
